The AE2500 is a great little microphone which, unusually, contains both a dynamic and an electret capsule, mounted side by side. The idea is that, because each of these capsules inherently has a different sound character, by offering both in the same package the user can blend their qualities as required to help capture (or create) the desired kick-drum sound.
